Quiet Portable Power

Honda’s Generators Bring Electricity to the Track

The demand for quiet, portable power is a part of everyday 21st-century life around the globe. American Honda Motor Co., Inc. is no stranger to this demand. More than 40 years ago, company division Honda Power Equipment began searching for ways to expand its lineup of generator products; even then, electrical appliances were coming into general household use and leisure activities were enjoying increased popularity. Clearly, there was an emerging need for portable generators, and it was widely anticipated that Honda would develop products in response to consumer demand.

Honda Power Equipment markets a complete line of generators for commercial and consumer applications. Lightweight, compact Honda generators produce between 1,000 and 6,500 watts of power, providing smooth, dependable power for recreation, construction, rental, and emergency use. Honda’s Super Quiet Series generators — the EU1000i, EU2000i, EU3000is and the EU3000i Handi — are inverter-equipped, lightweight models that feature a totally enclosed body resulting in noticeably quieter performance.

“With an increased number of features that enhance our already prominent position in leisure, residential, rental and commercial markets,” says Scott Conner, vice president, Honda Power Equipment. “Honda generators deliver renowned premium performance and quality – the ideal match for the demanding NHRA racing circuit.”

When More Power is Needed

For the ultimate in quiet and power, Honda offers the EU7000is in its Super Quiet Series.  Addressing customer demand for an even more powerful model—while still portable and exceptionally quiet—the compact and fuel efficient EU7000is generator leads the Honda EU Super Quiet class in high quality, portable power technology. At a total dry weight of 262 pounds, the EU7000is model produces 7,000 watts at peak power at a quiet 60 dB(A).

Ideal for a host of commercial and residential applications, the Honda EU7000is also incorporates the company’s first application of electronic fuel injection into a generator design, resulting in greater fuel efficiency, extremely easy starting without the need for a choke, and longer operating times.  Electronic fuel injection also allows for longer-term fuel storage without having to drain a carburetor or perform other related maintenance. What’s more, the generator incorporates a convenient one-touch, push-button electric start switch.

“Honda Power Equipment generators are known around the country and within the racing community for their reliability and strong performance,” says Tony Driscoll, vice president, sales and business development, NHRA. “Whether strengthening a competitor’s pit or the equipment used to put on all NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series events around the country, Honda Power Equipment has provided NHRA with the power it needs.”
